Rice Launches Scholarship Web Site for Local Students

Dear Students,

As a service to the community, Rice University's Multicultural Community Relations, Public Affairs has created a Web site that contains a comprehensive list of scholarships available to local students. The new Web site can be found at www.rice.edu/multicultural. The Web page was launched in June with more than 40 links to a wide variety of organizations offering scholarships. The awards vary in terms of requirements and amount of money offered. Some examples of the diverse groups that provide scholarships are the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, the Houston Association of Black Journalists, the Hispanic Heritage Foundation and the Chinese Professional Club of Houston.

"Rice University is proud to publish a Web page constructed with help from members of community for members of the community," said David Medina, director of Multicultural Community Relations. "We hope this scholarship listing will become an invaluable resource for students pursuing a college education. During this economic downturn, it is especially important to help students find financial support to attend college."
